How can the fireplace be chimney-free?
Our range of fireplace are designed with the market’s most advanced burners for ethanol. When ethanol burns, small amounts of carbon dioxide and water vapour are released, as well as heat. Since these residue products also exist in the air we breathe out, no chimney is needed. Unlike conventional hearth solutions, the system is free from soot.

What is it powered by?
Fireplaces are powered by denatured ethanol, which is sold under various trade names (bioalcohol, stove fuel etc.) at petrol stations, building merchandise stores, food shops and on Internet. 

Is smoke produced?
No, the combustion is clean and sootless. Only small amounts of carbon dioxide and water vapour are formed.

Is a chimney required?
No, because the combustion is sootless and the emissions of carbon dioxide and water vapour .

How much heat does it give?
Fireplaces give up to 3.2 kilowatts of heat, which is equivalent to two infrared heaters. The heat comes immediately, is directed, and can thus serve as a complement to existing heating. The hearth is able to warm up a room of normal size.  

Is installation needed?
Only a minimum of installation is needed, since the hearth is mostly prepared at the factory.

Which fuel should I use in a our range of fireplaces?
For our fireplaces you should use only liquid, pure denatured ethanol, which is sold under various trade names (bioalcohol, stove fuel methylated spirits etc.) at petrol stations, building merchandise stores, food shops and on Internet. If you are uncertain, always get advice from the personnel at the place of purchase in order to ensure that you buy a correct fuel quality.

How great is the operating cost?
The cost of 1 litre of Denatured Ethanol varies depending on place and quantity of purchase. On average you look at AU$2.50 per litre.

How should I handle the fuel?
Denatured ethanol is an inflammable fuel of Class I. The user bears the responsibility for ensuring that the handling and storage are done according to existing national regulations. Caution should be exercised in all handling of the fuel. 

Is the fuel environment-friendly?
Denatured ethanol is produced by fermentation of renewable raw materials such as wheat, barley and corn. Ethanol is biologically degradable. 

Safety

Which safety preparations are needed?
Every home should contain a fire extinguisher. Interdeco recommends a powder extinguisher of 6 kg with classification ABE. Moderately priced powder extinguishers are available at most building merchandise stores.

Yes, our products are certified and type-approved. In order to obtain certification, the products are tested carefully so that they meet the strictest prevailing safety requirements. The emissions of carbon dioxide and water vapour from our products lie far below the strictest prevailing limit values, which guarantees safe and secure ownership.
